Chants
There are loads of chants written for children but many of the ones I’ve come across are either very complicated or written to acompany music. I decided that I wanted something simple, to the point and which could easily be remembered by my daughter (and me)

Happy Yule
Just wishing you a happy Yule one and all, whether your attending a big social event or having a simple solo ceremony like me may the God and Goddess bless you for the coming year.
The festive season is defiantly upon us with such seasonal weather (pushing the buggy through the snow is always the highlight of my winter) and the shops and city centers are heaving with those pesky last minuet shoppers (like my husband and me).
preparations in my house are nearly complete. The house is being cleared of all presents and gifts so Father Christmas can come and collect them tonight, wrap them and bring them back in time for the 25th of December, leaving a little gift because Freya has been such a good girl (a tiger ornament, I’m sure thats going to get entered into our nightly routine of things to say goodnight to). I might cover my disorganisation in leaving piles of wrapped presents around the house in years to come.
Whatever you are doing, may you have a bright and festive time doing it.
Vicky

Yule Flame Tree Decorations
At Yule the Sun God begins to grow in strength once again, retuning to bring his light to the lands. Our ancestors lit fires in and around their homes both to encourage and welcome the new born sun and these tree decorations will help you do the same in a child safe manner.

Freya and the Moon
The moon has been so spectacular around where I live that my daughter has noticed for the first time. My heart swelled with pride as she pointed up to it and asked ‘what that?’ so I said “thats the moon, say hello moon”. She thought about it then waved and said hello moon (getting the word right first time).
We went through our nightly routine and as we passed our upstairs widow she got all excited and pointed out of the window. Wondering if her dad had returned home I stopped and looked. She pointed up and waved, saying “Moon! Nite Nite Moon!” and has bid the moon goodnight whenever she’s seen it (two nights at least) It will be interesting to see how she deals with the waning moon…

Cake and Juice Celebration
The cake and ale celebration is an important part of any Wiccans ritual, it helps them ground themselves after a period of magick work and reaffirms the oneness between male and female, god and goddess. Even removing the Wiccan Element the break between the ending of magic work and the end of a ceremony is a perfect time to review what you’ve been doing and what has occurred either for your own benefit or for the benefit for any younger person taking part.
These simple cakes can help you work with your child on something yummy and will provide something to eat with your ale (fruit juice
)

Elemental Keep Safe Box
Being an asthmatic I’m prone to coughs and colds so I always have an excess of empty tissues boxes knocking around at this time of year. Inspired by my childminders idea of making giant clown shoes I realised that there could be further use for my tissue boxes
